ABOUT
The works of media artist Ornella Fieres portray the world of yesterday as seen through the eyes of today's algorithms. Photographs from personal estates or film archive material are transferred into the present using manipulated computing processes or autonomous artificial intelligence (AI).
Fieres' multimedia installations have been exhibited at Centre Pompidou in Paris, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Goethe Institute Toronto, Literaturhaus Berlin, NurtureArt Gallery New York, Kunstverein Speyer and Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, among others. She has given lectures at Volksbühne Berlin, Haus am Lützowplatz Berlin, Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach, the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt or New Lab New York, where she had a research residency in 2017. She is currently pursuing her PhD in media science researching in the field of AI.
