Ornella Fieres’ “Inverse Fourier“ series consists of algorithmically altered found footage. The artist collects analog photographs from the turn of the 20th century - a time that was coined by a fascination of occultism in combination technology - and uses a compression algorithm to process the scanned pictures. Her control over the outcome of the final image is limited to a small extend and plays with the potential autonomous mind of the machine.
